Proud to be locally owned and operated.

Treasure Island is 35 years young – help us celebrate!

It is hard to believe but at Treasure Island Resort we are about to celebrate our 35th anniversary!

Back in 1973 we were a pioneering Fijian resort, helping establish the Mamanuca Islands as one of the world’s most alluring regions.

More than three decades later we are still one of the South Pacific’s most popular value-for-money island resorts.

More importantly we’ve made a remarkable number of friends, many of whom have returned time and time again.

Thirty five years is an important milestone so we’ve decided to have a party, but not just any party … this one will go for six fun-filled weeks.

Between October 20 and November 30 we’ve organised all sorts of special activities for old friends returning to help us celebrate.

All of our special anniversary events and activities will be repeated each week of the celebration period so you can enjoy the fun no matter which dates best suit you and your friends.

Our Group General Manager Graeme Back describes below some of the things we have planned, and provides details on a fantastic value-packed deal we have put together exclusively for returnees and friends.

I look forward to seeing you over this very special time.

Chairman Treasure Island Resort

Bula Dear Friends,

I am pleased to say we have put together a wonderful celebration programme to say ‘thank you’ to all the loyal customers and friends who have helped Treasure Island Resort grow and prosper over the years.

We have many wonderful memories of watching children become adults and then parents, who keep the tradition alive by bringing their own children to experience the ‘Treasure Island way’.

Many connections have been made with staff and guests and they still hold true today.

Now to the celebrations!

I have attached the weekly format of our 35th anniversary programme and I’m sure you’ll agree we have plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.

It’s important to note that each week will be hosted by one of our long-serving staff members, including Henry, Milika and Mesake, who many of you know well.

We will also be inviting former long-term staff members to join the celebrations as well. I will confirm all details on line shortly as part of our weekly count down to our special celebrations.

Our team are looking forward to catching up with as many of you as possible to share great memories of your times at Treasure Island Resort.

Creating new memories

Every week during our 35th anniversary celebrations we’re inviting returnees to a Gala Champagne Dinner, a special cocktail party and a Polynesian floor show with Samoan fire dancers, as well as an afternoon tea with long-term staff.

We’ve also got some special weekly excursions planned, including a sunset cruise around Treasure and Beachcomber islands, a visit to the local Lautoka markets on market day and a trip to Viseisei Village (home to many of our staff) and the beautiful orchids at the Garden of the Sleeping Giant.

We’re also going to take returnees on a special ‘Back of the House’ tour of Treasure Island.

Enjoying some old memories …

An anniversary is also an opportunity to re-live some good times.

Each week there will be a scrapbook sharing session, a competition for the best Treasure Island Resort photos and even an anniversary quiz. We’ll also hold a special ceremony for guests who want to enjoy some romance with a ‘Renewal of Wedding Vows’ ceremony.

Make sure you bring along your personal mementos and messages so we can include them in the Treasure Island Time Capsule. And at the end of the week you’ll take home a group photograph and a DVD of the week’s celebrations, including a compilation of old images.

All of these events are scheduled throughout the course of each week so to enjoy them all you’ll need to spend seven days with us.

Special anniversary offer

We’d like to offer our old friends the opportunity to return to Treasure Island between October 20 and November 30 for the very special anniversary rate of $F190 per night excluding taxes.

New pools offer three times the fun!

Many of anniversary events will take place around our three spectacular new swimming pools, which we proudly opened last month.

The largest pool features an horizon edge, as well as in-water lounging areas and water spouts to keep you cool. Alongside it sits a freshwater pool where infants and toddlers can safely enjoy themselves while mum and dad look on.

The third pool sits beneath the main area, providing a quiet, romantic and secluded area for adult guests to relax.

As you know, we have been progressively upgrading our guest facilities over the past two years and the work is not finished yet! Next on the agenda is a brand new Kids Club Buré. Due for completion this month, the new bure will provide a great base for all our children’s activities.

Say hello to … our new wildlife specialist

I am pleased to introduce our newest member of staff, Katerina Sefeti, who has joined us in the newly created role of Environmental Officer.

Katerina, who comes from Rotuma, an isolated island in the far north of the Fiji group, studied at the Fiji Institute of Technology and gained a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental) in 2006.

One of her main jobs will be to help all our guests – adults and kids – have some hands-on fun contributing to the protection of our marine life, reef and unique flora and fauna.

That includes helping look after our endangered Hawksbill turtles, feeding Hibiscus flowers to the rare Crested Iguanas or re-introducing marine species to the reef, such as giant clams, triton snails and coral gardens.
